Modern and contemporary sociological and political thought and the study of the relationships between social and political theory and empirical disciplines; core concepts in sociology, science, and political philosophy, with particular reference to forms of collective thought (common sense, social representations, ideology, utopia, social imaginary) and the social bond; critical analysis of the main phenomena in the contemporary world: globalization, populism, processes of de-democratization, etc.; creation of an "open" database of portraits of Niccolò Machiavelli from the sixteenth century to the present day.
