The BA degree in Communication Studies includes interdepartmental courses offered by the Department of Political Science and the Department of Humanities. Classes are held at the Department of Political Science. The program is designed to equip students with a broad knowledge of communication and is rooted in multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teaching and research. Its aim is to prepare students for work in various areas of communication, based on an education in a wide array of disciplinary fields, ranging from the humanities to the social sciences, and including the study of economics and the law.
Students also have the opportunity to experience on-the-job training. Educational opportunities include not only internships at companies and agencies the Department has a solid history of collaboration with, but also vocational seminars and workshops where students contribute to the design of communication projects commissioned by private and public institutions. Over the years, partners have included the Umbria regional administration, the City Council of Perugia and Terni, the Italian national research and development agency (ENEA), and several leading private companies.
The interdisciplinary approach and the applied and job-oriented training offered by the BA degree in Communication Studies are further expanded through its international focus. The opportunities offered to student by the Erasmus + exchange program and the involvement of faculty and staff in initiatives at international level are supplemented by the contribution of international collaborations.
Students will find themselves amidst a dynamic and innovative teaching and research environment. All enrolled students are assigned a tutor who will assist them throughout their academic career.
